Phytoestrogen

Plant derived estrogen-like compounds that, because of their structural similarity to estradiol (17-β-estradiol), have the ability to cause estrogenic or/and antiestrogenic effects. Phytoestrogens exert their effects primarily through binding to estrogen receptors.
